The national gendarmerie dismantles a clandestine clinic specializing in voluntary terminations of pregnancies
Following several denunciations and acting on information, elements of the Nlongkak Gendarmerie Brigade raided the place called Etoa-Meki where this clinic of another kind was located. The descent carried out on June 18, 2021 at around 12 noon, surprised the author of this activity in flagrante delicto on a 19-year-old girl who was two months pregnant. The cost of abortions performed here varied between 10,000 and 50,000 CFA francs depending on the length of the pregnancy. On the spot, the police arrested a suspect, aged 45, and his two assistants who were practicing without any qualifications. Equipment and drugs of questionable origin were also seized. Subsequently, and by order of the Public Prosecutor at the Court of First Instance (TPI) of Yaoundé Administrative Center, the said clinic was closed. An investigation was then opened to the Nlongkak Gendarmerie Brigade to shed light on this matter.
