Yaoundé: The Drinking Water Supply Project (PAEPYS) assessed on July 27, 2021 at 78% completion

This is what emerges from the site visit of the said works by the Minister of Water and Energy (MINEE), Mr. Gaston Eloundou Essomba. The MINEE passed in turn through the water pumping station at Nyom II, which was 53% executed; the treated water pumping station at Nkometou III (92%); the electrical transformer station at Nkometou III (96%); the DN 1800 pipe laying plant in Obala (97%); the raw water catchment station in Nachtigal (93%); and the water treatment plant in Emana-Batchenga (97%). To date, Yaoundé's drinking water needs are estimated at 315,000 m3 / day and Akomnyada's only water treatment plant that supplies the capital produces only nearly 100,000 m3 / d. This creates a deficit of 215,000 m3 / d.
