Jobs: A publication by the National Institute of Statistics (INS) presents the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic on households

The study carried out in March 2021 and whose objectives were to analyze the level of knowledge and behavior of the population vis-à-vis the disease, to assess its impact on employment and income, and to measure household access to basic services, etc. :
• In terms of job losses: 3.8% heads of household say they have lost their job. They are in proportion a little higher in Douala with 6% and Yaoundé 4.7% than at the national level and less in the rest of Cameroon which presents 3%. And, 12% of heads of households without a job during the pre-Cocid-19 period, remained unemployed at the time of the survey.
• Regarding job changes: 1/10 declares to have lived it. This phenomenon was higher in Douala with 13.6% and in Yaoundé with 11.1% and lower in the rest of the country, ie 8.8%.
• The survey also revealed that, across the country, 15.2% of heads of households were disrupted in the exercise of their jobs for various reasons (9.4% by fear of Covid-19, 20.9% by seasonal work, 9.7% by stopping the activity of his company, and 9.7% by illness).
