Energy
Major cities in Cameroon are experiencing a deficit in electrical energy. Despite state efforts, only 60 to 70 percent of the population has access to electricity. For this purpose, the public authorities have, on the one hand, updated and / or validated: the 2035 Electricity Sector Development Plan (ESDP), the Rural Electrification Master Plan (PDER). On the other hand, continued investments in major structuring projects (Lom Pangar, Memve'ele, Mekin, Kribi Thermal Power Plants, Bini to Warack, etc.). Efforts are also made for the transmission and distribution of electricity (connections, extension of networks, replacement of defective wood poles). For this purpose, the State has created the National Electricity Transmission Company (SONATREL).
